This most picturesque old stonebuilt house
is situated at the very top of a hillside village
called Kouses, between Phaistos and Matala
(Prefecture of Heraklion).
It has been lovingly renovated by the owner,
features comprehensive comfort (A/C)
and furniture and has a closed-in private
front yard with lawn, flower- and herb beds.
The panoramic view is perhaps the
most stunning feature of this house.
It reaches across the “Messara” plain
to the Idi mountain range (2500 m above
sea level) and even affords a glimpse
of Agia Gallini, a fishing harbour resort
on the Libyan sea.
Spectacular sunsets are
the rule here, in all seasons.
The house can be leased from a minimum one week stay, or for longer periods as well.
There are two bedrooms, each with a twin bed and 2 more single beds (one by the kitchen fireplace and one in the living room) and can accommodate a family of up to 6 persons.
It presupposes independent mobility from our guests (own or rented car) and we can arrange for you to be met at Heraklion airport with a rental of your choice.
There is a family-owned Tavern in Kousses, which offers a variety of daily menus.
The closest shops (and a Gas-station) are 1,5 km down the hill in Petrokefali.
Our village has no thoroughfare road traffic and is an extremely quiet place.
The closest beaches of Como and Kalamaki are a mere 10 minutes drive away. (Matala 15 min.)
